Randy G. Curry grew up in rural Texas panhandle. He received a BS degree in pharmacy (’77) from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford. As a pharmacist and pharmacy owner, he served the people of north central Oklahoma rural communities by helping with their healthcare needs. Randy also served the community through his involvement in emergency management, the fire department, and city council. With over 30 years of experience in rural healthcare, he has witnessed the importance and value of healthcare in rural communities. He currently serves as SWOSU College of Pharmacy Rural Health Coordinator within the Rural Health Network. He has assisted with the implementation of a remote medication order processing pharmacy for small rural hospitals and start the beginning phases of a transitional care pilot program which involves hospital medication reconciliation discharge consultations. As rural health coordinator, he has been instrumental in building product instructional videos for patient counseling, assisting pharmacies with implementation of immunization programs, and laying the groundwork for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services in small rural pharmacies. He continues to pursue avenues to assist critical access hospitals in decreasing readmissions and helping community pharmacies move toward earning their five star rating through Medicare. The SWOSU Rural Health Network has made numerous rural health presentations and has provided screening services at health fairs. Dr. Curry is proud to be serving pharmacists and the people of rural communities.
