Robert Lane, MA, NHA, FACHCA

Robert Lane assists post-acute care providers with operational improvements, such as survey preparation and compliance, business process improvements, budget analysis, staff retention strategies, documentation and billing procedures, contract reviews, strategic positioning and Medicare/Medicaid certification issues. He has been involved in health care for more than 30 years, and long-term care for over 26 years as an administrator, field trainer, Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) project manager, speaker and consultant. Prior to joining BKD, Mr. Lane served as the project manager for the Oklahoma QIO’s nursing home and home health task teams that successfully ramped up the settings’ 7th and 8th scope contract activities. Mr. Lane led several colleagues who published a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services special study on “Special Focus Facilities.” Mr. Lane, a licensed nursing home administrator (NHA), has been a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators (FACHCA) since 1995 and currently serves on the ACHCA national board of directors. He currently serves on faculty for the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Long-Term Care Administrators’ Administrator University and is an adjunct faculty member for St. Joseph’s College – Maine’s health administration program. Nationally, Mr. Lane serves as a member of the AHCA Quality Improvement committee, the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes’ Staff Involvement workgroup and the AHCA Quality Award Board of Overseers. He is a trained INTERACT (Interventions to Reduce Acute Care Transfers) educator. Mr. Lane is a graduate of The University of Kansas, Lawrence, with a bachelor’s degree in allied health administration, and earned a graduate certificate in gerontology and a Master’s degree in Health and Human Services Administration from the University of Oklahoma, Norman.
